It’s time for Taste of Melbourne again. I attended last year and I was happy to go again this year. Taste of Melbourne is held every year at the picturesque Royal Exhibition building in Carlton. For more information, you can go to their site here.
Hubby and I made our way (or should I say, ate our way) through all the stalls. We tried a lot of different dishes and found a couple of stand out ones.
We recommend St. Katherine’s KFC ( Katherine’s Fried Chicken) It was tasty and had a slight heat to it.
We also recommend Kitchen Cat’s pulled pork panini. The pork had a slight vinegary taste to it. Hubby doesn’t usually like vinegary things but there was a balance in the pork that just want you to keep taking another bite .
Delicious ice cream from Gundowring. One word, gooooood!
Peking duck wraps from Mahjong Black. This was another dish hubby and I quite enjoyed.
Luxbite had beautiful tarts on offer. We bought a Peanut butter and jelly tart and a lemon meringue tart to share with Deanna and Thomas at home
On Shellie’s recommendation, we went to Mezzo to try the Wagyu meatballs, Sicilian cous cous and salted ricotta. I’m glad we listened to Shellie (who is a meatball freak). The meatballs were light and packed full of flavour.
To end the night we finished off with The Millswyn’s peanut butter parfait sandwich with raspberry jelly. This was is really good but the portion was tiny. We managed to polish it off with one gulp.
If you’re in Melbourne, pop down to the exhibition building and enjoy the taste of Melbourne this weekend September 17th and 18th.
